Website Design Timeline

Steps One through Three are considered part of a free consultation. You are under no obligation to hire me until we reach an understanding about your website and we sign the contract.

  1. Submit an inquiry form with as much information as you can provide.
  2. I will contact you to let you know I received your email and will be reviewing your project. I will also ask you any questions I may have at this point.
  3. After reviewing your needs and clarifying project details, I will send you a project estimate.
  4. If you decide to hire me, I will send you a contract for you to sign and send back to me. A 50% deposit of the estimate is also due at this time.
  5. Next I will work on a mockup of the design(s) for you to look at. I may have a very clear idea of what I want to do or I may send you a few options to look at. Either you will approve the design and go to the next step or you will contact me with changes and receive a new mockup.
  6. I will begin writing the code for the site. Remember you must send me all content within two weeks of signing the contract.
  7. During this process I will let you know if I think the project will exceed the estimate and the reason for it. I am good at estimating my time but any changes you need to make after the project details have been decided will usually mean additional work on my part.
  8. Website will be completed and uploaded to a private directory for you to look at.
  9. Once the website is approved it will be uploaded to your webspace.
  10. The balance is due.
